Tranny Talk

"The normal suicide rate across the United States is 4%. The suicide rate in the transgender community is 40%. The idea that 36% more transgendered people are committing suicide because people are mean to them is ridiculous."

Views that don’t fully embrace the liberal take on the current gender debate are being deemed hateful and closed-minded, and that only bigoted people hold this stance. That is absolutely not true and there’s a whole multitude of reasons why a large amount of people in the US don’t support the transgender debate.

The transgender/gender identity conversation is an extremely important issue that shouldn't even be focused on attacking all of the people who aren't automatically dropping all and accepting the movement. Some people need to wait for two seconds and realize that everyone who opposes your opinions and desired rights doesn't have to be coming from a place of hate. For me, it's because I care, because I'm fascinated by mental illness and the psychology associated, and because there is clearly something going on in this issue that isn't being solved by the solutions already proposed/offered.

The conversation needs to allow for the inclusion of mental health without being met with such animosity and constant opposition from people who don't agree. It's not about personal liberty, it's because some of us who aren't blindly backing the gender identity issue truly care for the wellbeing of those being affected. 40% suicide rate. That is two(2) out of every five(5) transgendered individuals who don't find the happiness they were searching for and decide that their life is no longer worth living. That is how you know something is wrong. And I think those lives are worth trying to save. Don't you?
